Frequently Asked

Common questions about jet brokerage.

How does a private jet brokerage work?

A brokerage represents either the buyer or seller of a pre-owned business aircraft and manages the full transaction, valuation, marketing, qualifying counterparties, negotiating LOI terms, coordinating the pre-purchase inspection, escrow, title and registration, tax structuring, and closing. A maintenance-first brokerage like Pulse adds independent technical due diligence on logbooks, ADs, and inspection scope so principals are not relying on the seller's narrative.

What is a pre-purchase inspection, and why does it matter?

A pre-purchase inspection (PPI) is a structured technical evaluation performed at a qualified MRO before closing. It verifies the aircraft's recorded condition against its actual condition, logbook continuity, AD and service-bulletin compliance, corrosion, structural integrity, avionics function, and any open discrepancies. A properly scoped PPI is the single most important step in protecting a buyer from carrying unbudgeted maintenance and warranty exposure post-closing.

How is Pulse Aviation different from other brokers?

Most brokers come from sales backgrounds. Pulse's founder, Daniel Rios, spent 25+ years in business aviation maintenance before brokering aircraft, which means our valuations, listing prep, and PPI oversight are built on direct technical knowledge rather than secondhand reporting. We represent the principal's interest end-to-end and do not dual-represent transactions where our position would be compromised.
